Ziv Frankenstein to present at the AACR for cellular heterogeneity in the tumor microenvironment

Dr. Ziv Frankenstein is one of the members of CancerEvo as well as the Anderson lab here at Moffitt’s IMO. Over the last couple of years, in collaboration with biologists (the Hayward lab at Vanderbilt University) and pathologists (Gustavo Ayala at the University of Texas Health Center), Ziv has produced and studied a rather sophisticated mathematical model of prostate cancer progression. With the help of clinical data from UTH, Ziv’s results demonstrate the importance of the interplay between tumour and microenvironment and suggest new prognostic features that could improve over the results produced by the conventionally used Gleason Score.

It’s not usual for AACR meetings to carry mathematical modelling talks so if you are in San Diego on the 1st of March, go and see Ziv present his results.
